Name of Competition The Cross-Border Hackathon Presented By NAB and Alibaba

Entry Requirements Entrants must register via the Entry Method.
Entrants may plan, but must not build any part of their entry prior to 3:00pm on Friday 20th April 2018.
Entrants must bring their own PC, laptop or tablet.
You can participate in the event as a team of between 3 to 6 members. Registration must be done as a team.
Ineligible Entrants Entrants aged under 18 years at the start date of the competition period.
Competition Period The competition starts on Friday 20th April 2018 at 3:00pm Australian Eastern Standard time (AEST) and closes on Sunday 22nd April 2018 at 6pm AEST.
Development must be completed by 3pm AEST on Sunday 22nd April 2018. Under no circumstances will further time allocation be granted or permitted.

Entrants must attend the Cross-Border Hackathon at Stone & Chalk Melbourne at 710 Collins St, Melbourne on 20th April 2018 until 6:00pm AEST on 22nd April 2018
Entrants must be available to present their creation with their team to the judging panel from 3:00pm AEST to 5:00pm AEST on 22nd April 2018.
Entry Details During the Competition Period, teams of up to six people must incorporate the provided challenges into a product, app or prototype against a chosen category using both NAB and Alibaba APIs. Entrants may also utilise other 3rd party APIs as they see fit.

A valid entry is deemed to be one which has been developed:
(a) solely as part of the competition, and not in the course of employment for a third party;
(b) by registered entrants, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and
(c) without infringing on any third party rights or containing unauthorised confidential information.
Maximum Number of Entries 1 entry per individual entrant, or if participating as a team, 1 entry per team.
Prize Details Prizes to be won are as follows:
Major Prize (To be shared by winning team, if applicable): entry which best meets the Judging Criteria (prize value will be no more than AUD$7,000)
- A major prize of:
(i) 4 (four) x return airfares to Singapore or China (choice of venue is at the discretion of Alibaba Cloud)
(ii) 4 (four) x accommodation in Singapore or China (choice of accommodation is at the discretion of Alibaba Cloud)
(iii) 4 (four) x tickets to the Alibaba Cloud Computing Conference in Singapore or China (choice of event is at the discretion of Alibaba Cloud) (The Alibaba Cloud Computing Conference prize value will be no more than AUD$7,000)
(iv) Alibaba Cloud credits to the value of USD$10,000

Minor Prize (To be shared by the second place team): entry which comes second as judged by the panel
- A minor prize of Alibaba Cloud credits to the value of USD$5,000

Third Prize (To be shared by the third place team): entry which comes third as judged by the panel
- A minor prize of Alibaba Cloud credits to the value of USD$2,500
Prize Conditions The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable.
All prizes provided by a third party are subject to that third party’s (manufacturer or issuer’s) standard terms and conditions of use.
If a winner does not accept the Prize at the time set by NAB and Alibaba, the winner will forfeit the Prize. If a Prize is unavailable for any reason, NAB and Alibaba may substitute it for one of equal or greater value.
Value of total prize Pool Alibaba Cloud credits to the value of $17,500
Notification Method Winners will be announced at the completion of the submission presentations, scheduled at 5pm AEST on 22nd April 2018. Winners will also receive confirmation by email.
Prize Claim Date & Time All prizes made available at the winners announcement must be claimed on the day (22nd April 2018)
Judging Criteria Chance plays no part in winning this Competition. Each valid entry will be individually judged by a panel of judges. The winning entrant will be the application or idea that best meets the following criteria (as judged by the panel):

The problem
Has the team clearly outlined the problem they are trying to solve? Is this a real customer problem/opportunity? If so, how many customers does it impact and how large is the impact to each customer?

The Solution
How desirable is the solution to customers? Is it technologically feasible to deliver? Is it economically viable for the bank? How scalable is the solution?

Use of both NAB and Alibaba APIs and other 3rd party APIs
Does the solution effectively make use of both NAB and Alibaba APIs and other 3rd party APIs? Is the use of the APIs a novel idea or a new approach to an old problem? Are the APIs being used in a secure manner?

Each of the three criteria above will be assessed a score out of ten. The top three teams with the highest overall scores will win the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes, depending on the order of their final standing

In the event of a tie between two or more submissions, the panel of judges will vote on the tied submissions.

The judges will have absolute and sole discretion when judging entries. The judges’ decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By participating in the Program as an Applicant, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

    Conditions of Entry
  1. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.
  2. The competition will be run during the Competition Period.
  3. To enter, entrants must follow the Entry Method, noting any Entry Details, and submit their entries during the Competition Period.
  4. Entrants may only submit up to the Maximum Number of Entries.
  5. All valid entries will be entered into the competition. Entries must be received during the Competition Period. Stone & Chalk has no control over telecommunications networks and accepts no responsibility for problems associated with them. Entries not fully complying with these Conditions of Entry will be deemed invalid. Stone & Chalk accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, delayed, corrupted, illegible or misdirected entries whether due to error, omission, alteration, deletion, destruction, transmission interruption, tampering, theft, destruction failure or otherwise.
  6. The best valid entry as determined by the judges according to the Entry Criteria will win the Prize described in the Schedule. The Total Prize Pool is set out in the Schedule.
  7. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining winners. Each valid entry will be individually judged on the basis of the Entry Criteria. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. Each party (or its licensors) will retain ownership of all copyright, moral rights, and rights in relation to inventions (including patents) (“Intellectual Property Rights”) subsisting in any material it provides or makes available to the other party under or in connection with the competition. For the avoidance of doubt, any new intellectual property, including software or applications developed by entrants during the competition shall be owned exclusively by the entrants.
  9. Entrants agree to give NAB and each related body corporate (as this term is defined in the Corporations Act 2001) of NAB (“NAB Group”) the first right to enter into good faith negotiations for:
    (i) the acquisition of the Intellectual Property Rights in their entry; or
    (ii) the grant of a licence to NAB to use, modify, develop, communicate and/or sub-licence any Intellectual Property Rights in the entry on an exclusive basis; and
    (iii) the provision of services to support the commercial development of the entry for the benefit of NAB.
  10. Each entry must be the Entrants’ original work. Entrants warrant that their entry is not, and its use by NAB or the NAB Group will not be, in breach of any person’s Intellectual Property Rights or any other rights. Entrants agree to indemnify NAB and the NAB Group against any loss or damage suffered or incurred by NAB or the NAB Group as a result of the Entrants breach of this clause.
  11. NAB and the NAB Group has not agreed and does not agree to treat as confidential any suggestion or idea provided by Entrants (any “Feedback”), and nothing in these Conditions of Entry or in the parties’ dealings arising out of or related to the competition will restrict NAB or the NAB Groups’ right to use, profit from, disclose, publish, or otherwise exploit any Feedback. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Entrants agree that its provision of Feedback does not give it any Intellectual Property Right or any other right, title, or interest in or to software, inventions, or other assets created by NAB or the NAB Group, even if such Feedback leads NAB or the NAB Group to create the software, invention, or other asset.
  12. In consideration for awarding a Prize to a winner, winners agree to participate in any promotional activity regarding winning the Prize and consent to their name and image being used in promotional material without payment.
  13. Winners will be notified by the Notification Method described in the Schedule.
  14. NAB may request winners to provide proof of identity. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of Stone & Chalk.
  15. Prizes must be claimed by the Prize Claim Date and Time otherwise that winner will forfeit the Prize and Stone & Chalk will distribute the Prize to the next best valid entry that has not already received a Prize.
  16. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion is affected for any reason, Stone & Chalk may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, change or suspend the competition. Stone & Chalk may disqualify any individual who tampers (or benefits from the tampering) with the entry process or the conduct of the competition or who has, in Stone & Chalk’s opinion, engaged in conduct which is fraudulent, misleading or generally damaging to the reputation of Stone & Chalk or has breached these Conditions of Entry .
  17. Stone & Chalk will not be liable for any loss (including without limitation, consequential or indirect loss), cost or damage, personal injury or death which is suffered (whether or not due to the negligence of any person) in connection with entering the competition or using the Prize, except any liability which cannot be excluded by law (and if so, that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
  18. Stone & Chalk Australia accepts no responsibility for the tax implications of Prize winnings. Winners should obtain independent tax advice to determine how this may affect their circumstances.
  19. The personal information entrants provide will be used by Stone & Chalk, and may be disclosed to its agents, solely to conduct the competition Prize.
